A GREAT ENHANCEMENT WHICH PROVIDES A TRULY BALANCED PROPELLER AND IMPROVED PERFORMANCE
We can now offer our customers the option of having their propellers dynamically balanced using the Dynamics Research Model 602 Multi-Plane Computerized Dynamic Balancing System
Most propellers are checked and/or repaired using the static balance method; inserting a special arbor into the bore, placing the assembly on a stand placing the rotation of the propeller in a vertical plane resting on bearings.
| Allowing the propeller to freely rotate allows the heavier blades to rotate downward and be marked, after which weight is either added or removed until the propeller remains "static" in any rotational position. |
A propeller may be in perfect static balance and still not be balanced at higher speeds of rotation.
When this occurs, it is referred to as "dynamic" unbalance, or a twisting in two separate planes which may cause a perfectly good propeller to vibrate.
The only scientific method of correction is by dynamically balancing the propeller, removing the rocking motion fore and aft and/or side-to-side. Our computerized dynamic balancing machine uses the true multi-plane dynamic balance analyzer and provides the customer with a computer printout report of the dynamic balancer findings. |
